BlackBerry might not release a top-end all-touch device this year

BlackBerry might not release a top-end all-touch device this year
We already know that BlackBerry will be officially announcing its peculiar, square-ish Passport sometime next month, and despite the fact that we've already seen the device quite many a time, it still flaunts a great
amount of charisma and successfully boosts our curiosity. Then again, it's sure that if BlackBerry wants to keep its head above the water, the Passport won't be sufficient - it will need a few more new devices on the shelves so as to bring more cash home.

We've already heard a round of rumors regarding the manufacturer’s 2014 lineup, and a new piece of information regarding some of the manufacturer's upcoming devices has just made an appearance. We are talking about nothing else than the alleged BlackBerry roadmap for 2014 – it suggests that the Ontario-based maker is currently prepping four smartphones, an affordable one, a classic one, an innovative one, and a prestige device.

The BlackBerry Passport seemingly fits in the “innovative” category, whereas the rumored BlackBerry Q20 might be the classic device we're talking about. Moreover, the company is rumored to be releasing an LTE version of the Z3, which launched exclusively in Indonesia earlier this year, so it would undeniably be the affordable device in the alleged roadmap. Last, but not least, comes the prestige one – this could be the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9983, a successor to the Porsche Design P'9982 and the P'9981.

Notice that the company is allegedly not planning to release a top-end all-touch device by the end of the year. The main reason for this is most probably the low demand for such a BlackBerry device - throughout the year, we heard numerous times that the company's enterprise customers are not keen on all-touch devices (as they are still the main target market for BlackBerry). Whether the omission of such a device from the roadmap will aid John Chen's company (if these rumors hold water, of course) in a financial regard remains to be seen in the following months.
