Alcatel’s promo video for the OneTouch Flash shows the handset personified as an Android robot that fights an evil-looking “Note.” Obviously, the Flash wins in the end, helped by some of its allegedly superior features. Alcatel is pitting its new device against the Note 3 Neo, not against the high-end Note 3: as you’ll see in the video, OneTouch Flash’s opponent has a 3100 mAh battery, just like the Note 3 Neo (and unlike the Note 3, which comes with a 3200 mAh battery).
Regardless of what handsets it’s going to compete with, the Alcatel OneTouch Flash runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and features a 5.5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels, an octa-core 1.4GHz MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of expandable internal memory. There’s a 13 MP camera on the back, and a 5 MP front-facing camera with a “smart beauty” function for better selfies. The new smartphone also comes with Hotknot, which is an NFC alternative developed by MediaTek.
The Alcatel OneTouch Flash should be available to buy in Thailand starting September 8 for an unknown price (a low one, we assume). Most likely, the handset will be released in other markets shortly after that.
